What is the program about?

CI Inovador was created to meet the growing market demand for professionals in the field of semiconductors and microelectronics. The program is an initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) coordinated by Softex in partnership with the most renowned educational institutions in Brazil.

The program offers a residency in Digital or Analog Systems, with a scholarship of R$5,000.00 per month, plus airfare expenses covered for the international phase. In addition, both options include management and entrepreneurship modules, providing a complete immersion to train highly qualified professionals and strengthen the national microelectronics ecosystem.

The CI Inovador Qualification phase lasts 6 months and awards a certificate to all approved students. After completing this first stage, the students with the best performance are selected for the International Experience and, subsequently, those who stand out move on to the In Company phase.

Program Phases

Theoretical and Practical Qualification

Students undergo a full-time in-person immersion, with theoretical and practical classes. In addition to the introduction to microelectronics and specific content, students are taught management topics during the course and participate in job fairs with companies in the field.

Testimonies

"Although it is a multidisciplinary field, full of opportunities in both academics and the industrial sector, microelectronics still suffers from gender inequality. Unfortunately, female participation in microelectronics is still very shy, not only in Brazil, but worldwide. We must highlight the countless possibilities of this segment in terms of professional development for women and of new research and discoveries that enable the design of faster, more economical devices that transform our daily lives." Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where she works in the Embedded Systems Laboratory and is a researcher in the microelectronics sector. Cristina Meinhardt "The field of microelectronics and semiconductors brought me many opportunities. When I lived abroad, I was a company director. It is a very promising and a high demand sector, with a huge labor shortage. We are talking about a market estimated at US$ 500 billion. I hereby call on women and men to take advantage of this specialization opportunity offered by Cl Inovador to transform their careers." PhD in Computer Science from Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. She is among the most respected professionals in the semiconductor sector in the country. Edelweiss Ritt "Encouraging the presence of more women in a strategic sector such as microelectronics, which lacks qualified professionals, is essential to promote economic development and innovation, and also inspire young people of the new generations in order to change the future of our country." Electrical Engineer and Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, graduated from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) Luciana Santos "In my last year of college I decided to completely change careers within Engineering and joined the semiconductor or microelectronics industry. It was the best decision I've made in my life. I work with the dawn of technology and with Silicon Valley companies. This industry greatly values diversity and has greater cultural maturity compared to others in Brazil. Cl Inovador is the perfect opportunity for you who want to acquire the necessary skills to kick-start your career in this area. So take advantage of this chance." Application Engineering Manager at Cadence Luiza Pena "The microelectronics industry is expected to experience a 13% growth in 2024. There are many opportunities in such a strategic - although extremely lacking in specialized professionals - segment. Women, embrace a career in the field of microelectronics. Send your application for CI Inovador. Try it. Be bold. Don’t be afraid to explore your growth zone." Professor at the State University of Maringá, president of the Brazilian Society of Microelectronics (SBMicro), founder and leader of the Manna Ecosystem, and first honorary woman in Microelectronics in more than 50 years of the field in Brazil Prof. Linnyer Beatrys Ruiz Aylon PhD "I have been working in the microelectronics field for 15 years and want to encourage women interested in this segment to sign up for the Cl Inovador program. The microelectronics career is very diverse, interesting and presents many possibilities. I have professional contact with many women working for large technology companies abroad and I hope very soon to see a lot of diversity on the national scene as well." Formal Verification Engineer Yumi Monma
